Coaches

KEVIN FLYNN: Executive Director & U-17 Boys Coach
Coach Flynn grew up in Hinsdale, IL, and has been playing lacrosse for over 12 years. He was a two time All-Conference selection in high school before moving to Missoula to play collegiately for the Griz. At Montana, Flynn was named Team President and Team Captain for 3 seasons. He was an All-Conference defender in college and helped lead the Griz to the 2007 MCLA D2 National Championship. Coach Flynn also spent two years on the sidelines coaching for Montana, compiling a 22-6 overall record and one conference championship. Flynn was named the PNCLL’s Coach of the Year in 2005. He graduated from The University of Montana with a degree in Native American Studies and was also the ASUM Student Services Award Winner and recepient of a Diversity Advisory Council Award in 2007. Additionally, Coach Flynn is the inaugural recipient of the Lacrosse All-Stars Grow the Game Award. Coach Flynn serves on the Montana USLacrosse Chapter Board and coaches the Team Montana High School Boys Team. He has been serving the Missoula lacrosse community for 9 years and is one of the founders of Missoula Elite Lacrosse. This will be his fourth year on the sidelines for the Elite Boys and his second year as Coach of the Hellgate Knights. Coach Flynn can be reached at kevin@missoulaelite.com.

MAX REUTER: Director Of Operations & U-17 Boys Coach
Coach Reuter grew up in Portland, Oregon, and attended Wilson High School. He played collegiately for The University of Montana, where he was named a Team Captain and was a member of the 2007 National Champion team. Coach Reuter is also the Head Coach for the Sentinel Spartans in Missoula, who recently won Montana’s 1st High School Boys Lacrosse State Championship. He was also recently named Director of Operations for Missoula Elite Lacrosse.

JOE FRICIONE: U-17 Boys Coach
Coach Fricione was born and raised in New Hyde Park, New York, on Long Island. He played in two lacrosse National Championship games, winning a NCLL Championship with Towson University and playing in another with Nassau Community College. He played midfield in high school and college and was a face-off specialist. After earning teaching degrees in both Social Studies and Special Education, Coach Fricione has recently moved to Missoula to pursue a career in education. He is also entering his first season as Head Coach of the Big Sky Eagles.

BRANDON KENDALL: U-17 Boys Coach
Coach Kendall played high school lacrosse at Port Angeles, Washington, and in college at Gonzaga University. He served as a Team Captain for both squads. He plays attack and has over a decade of lacrosse experience. Coach Kendall is currently a first grade teacher at Sussex School in Missoula. He was also recently named Assistant Coach for the Hellgate Knights.

MATT COSCA: U-15 Boys Coach
Coach Cosca attended high school in Davis, California, where he was a Team Captain for the school’s lacrosse team. A knee injury cut his playing career short, but provided an opportunity to get involved with coaching the game. Coach Cosca has six years of lacrosse experience and is currently attending The University of Montana, where he is pursuing a degree in Resource Conservation. LEROY BEARMEDICINE: U-11 Boys Coach
Coach Bearmedicine grew up in Browning, Montana, and recently graduated from Loyola High School. Coach Bearmedicine played one season for Missoula Elite, taking faceoffs and running midfield. He played lacrosse at Sentinel as was a member of their 2011 State Champion team. Coach Bearmedicine is currently attending The University of Montana.

BRANDON ROOSE: U-11 Boys Coach
Coach Roose is from Missoula, Montana, and recently graduated from Sentinel High School. He was the starting goaltender for the Spartans 2011 State Champion team and was selected as the first ever All-America from Montana.

COURTNEY STEWART, Ph.D.: Director Of Academics
Coach Stewart will be filling a new position for Missoula Elite in 2012, Director of Academics. He will be overseeing a number of new scholastic initiatives, with the overall goal of preparing players to be able to handle the student-athlete work load and prepare them for college. Coach Stewart currently works for The University of Montana’s Department of Educational Leadership and will be a great asset to players and parents. He played lacrosse in high school and at college for Brigham Young University, where he was a member of the 1998 National Championship Runner Up team. Coach Stewart also coached at the high school level in Utah for 5 seasons and will be joining Elite teams on the sidelines when he is able.

ADAM FOSS: Bozeman Area Representative
Coach Foss is a native of Cochrane, Alberta, and currently resides in Bozeman, Montana. Coach Foss will be serving as our Bozeman Area Representative in 2012, scouting players for future Elite teams and helping to develop area talent. He will join Elite teams on the sidelines when able. Coach Foss played collegiately for Simon Fraser University and is one of the MCLA’s all time leading scorers, registering 215 career points (101 goals, 114 assists) for the Clan.

SAM CAMERON: Billings Area Representative
Coach Cameron grew up on Bainbridge Island, Washington, and currently resides in Billings, Montana. Coach Cameron will be serving as our Billings Area Representative in 2012, scouting players for future Elite teams and helping to develop area talent. He will join Elite teams on the sidelines when able. Coach Cameron played collegiately for The University of Montana, where he was a 3-time All-Conference attackman and one of the Grizzlies all time leading scorers (161 points in 3 seasons).

MEREDITH DAVIESS: High School Girls Coach
Coach Daviess grew up on Bainbridge Island, across the water from Seattle, Washington. She played lacrosse through middle school and her freshman year of high school before a back injury had her switch over to coaching and reffing. She coached on the island for two years before moving to Missoula in 2009. Coach Daviess is studying Community Health at the University of Montana. During the school year she works as a campus bus driver, then spends her summer months in Gold Creek, Montana working at Camp Mak-A-Dream. She has previously coached the Missoula Elite Lacrosse Middle School Girls, as well as working with the YMCA Lacrosse Program. HANNAH LEONARD: Middle School Girls Coach
Coach Leonard was born and raised in Missoula, Montana. She played on the Missoula Elite Women’s Team from it’s beginning three years ago, and was elected team co-captain her senior year. She played coverpoint both years and was elected best defense her junior year. Coach Leonard started playing lacrosse after a knee injury prevented her from trying out for volleyball. She graduated from Hellgate High School in 2010. She attended Arizona State for a semester and played club Ultimate Frisbee. Now Coach Leonard is studying Wildlife Biology at the University of Montana. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with friends, rafting, sledding and listening to music.
