Missoula Elite Lacrosse would like to extend a huge thank you to Maulers Hockey Central for recently stepping up to donate 15 Cascade helmets to our youth program! With the youth numbers growing significantly this year, these helmets were in serious need and now we can protect our kids with the best!

Maulers Hockey Central is located in the Southgate Mall, near the Mustard Seed entrance, and is Montana’s top lacrosse retailer. They carry boys and girls equipment, offer custom stringing, and more! If you haven’t checked them out already, be sure to do so and remember that buying local helps us grow lacrosse here even more!

Missoula Elite Lacrosse has now opened registration for our 2012 High School Boys Summer Touring Team! We’ve lined up a great set of games for the summer squad and we’re looking forward to another excellent summer season! This is the premier opportunity for Montana lacrosse players to get exposed to top national competition and play in front of college recruiters and coaches!

PROGRAM SCHEDULE:
JUNE 2nd & 3rd: Sandpoint Exhibitions, Sandpoint, ID
- The team will play 2 or 3 exhibition games, working on establishing identity

JUNE 10th: Missoula Training Camp, Missoula, MT
- The team will participate in an intensive all day training camp, further preparing for competition
- The team will also have an Academic Readiness Seminar on this day and tour the UM Campus

JUNE 18th – 20th: Chicago Lacrosse Cup, Chicago, IL
- The team will play in 4 or 5 games at the 2012 Chicago Lacrosse Cup, competing against some of the top midwest clubs and playing in front of college coaches and recruiters
- This trip will also include a tour of downtown Chicago and other fun group events!

JUNE 22nd: Minnesota Exhibitions, Minneapolis, MN
- The team will play 2 exhibition games against the Minnesota Loons Selects, one of the top club programs in Minnesota

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
If you’re interested in playing for our High School Boys Summer Touring Team, please contact Coach Flynn at kevin@missoulaelite.com. Players must be rising Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors. Roster space is limited and will be determined by the coaching staff. There will be a $200 deposit that will be due once you are confirmed. Final payments are still being determined, but every effort is being made to keep this program affordable. For more information contact Coach Flynn.

The U15 and U13 boys’ practice time has changed to 4:30-6:30 to allow kids more time to get to practice after school. U11 and U9 will start practices on March 28, also from 4:30-6:30. Please have pads and helmet on and be ready to go at 4:30!

Missoula Elite Lacrosse is happy to announce that we are now offering a 50% discount on our 2012 Spring Lacrosse Registration to all Active 6 Members! We hope this will be a great opportunity for local kids to stay active this spring and check out a great sport!

Selection will be mostly limited to what people bring in. There is no cost to set up and sell your gear. Missoula Elite Lacrosse is proud to announce our first ever Academic Readiness Seminar! This event is open to any high school or middle school players, as well as their families. The seminar will feature a panel of knowledgeable presenters and MEL Director of Academics, Courtney Stewart, will also lead a question and answer session. The seminar will cover basically all academic issues surrounding playing a competitive sport in high school and college – including time and resource management, recruiting and application timetables, scholarship information, leadership opportunities, and more! We believe that this is an excellent opportunity for both players and parents, so be sure to mark your calendars!

Missoula Elite Lacrosse is extremely happy to announce that we will be hosting a MEL All-Star Demo featuring one of lacrosse’s most decorated players, Chris Rotelli! Join us on Monday, February 13th, and our All-Star Presenters will go over the fundamentals and drills that lead to success, talk about training and competing on the lacrosse field, and offer something for experienced players as well as the casual fan. This is an incredible opportunity to learn from the best, so mark your calendars!

Here’s some more information about our featured presenter…

A native of Rumford, Rhode Island, Chris Rotelli played high school lacrosse at Moses Brown School, where he was a three-time high school All-American and four-time All-State selection. He then attended the University of Virginia from 2000 to 2003, where he became one of the most decorated midfielders in Cavaliers history. As a senior in 2003, Rotelli helped lead the team to the 2003 NCAA Division I National Championship. He was the team’s leading scorer with 49 points and was among the ACC leaders in scoring, goals, and assists. That year, he won the Tewaaraton Trophy as the nation’s top college lacrosse player, the McLaughlin Award as the nation’s best midfielder, the ACC Player of the Year, and was selected as a First Team All-American by the USILA. In addition, he became the first lacrosse player in history to win the ACC Male Athlete of the Year award (Anthony J. McKevlin Award) and was the first overall pick in the Major League Lacrosse collegiate draft.
