Billings Results

April 23rd, 2012

The Elite U15s split into two teams to take on Bozeman and Billings on what turned out to be a hot and sunny day in Billings. The day dawned a little drizzly, but that all cleared away by noon and the afternoon games were hot affairs. The Missoula laxmen traveled on Friday to get in some quality hotel time and get some breakfast at Stella’s. Then the fun began. Team 1 took on Billings to open the day and quickly put some points on the board and battled Billings fairly evenly for the first half, with goals from Chase Koenig, Jameson Morrison, and Aiden Chisholm, but Billings pulled away for a 7-3 win. Team 2 then battled Bozeman in a close one, but fell 6-5 on a late goal. Chase Koenig contributed 2 goals, while Stellan Bechtold, Eric Ipsen, and Sam Oetinger added one each. Rogge Senterfeit stood in goal for both games. On the flip games, Team 2 fell to Billings 6-5 in OT, Chase Koenig and Stellan Bechtold each contributed 2 goals, while Eric Ipsen added the 5th. Rogge Senterfiet and Nate Hicks split time in goal for Missoula. Team 1′s second game against Bozeman ended in a 8-5 loss, with Zach Jaffe and Cooper Webster each netting two goals and Aiden Chisholm one. Aiden Chisholm and Nate Hicks split the goalie duties. Hunter White and Zach Jaffe had outstanding defensive days, each forcing 9 turnovers and corralling 11 GBs.

The U13s steamrolled Billings 11-0 and Bozeman 13-7, led by Colton Becker, Jett Steen and Max Triepke. Dalton Roeser was unbeatable on faceoffs in both games. Dylan Sandry played goalie for the shutout, while Sawyer Largay handled the net against Bozeman. Ben Elmer centered the defense with 13 takeaways and 13 GBs on the day.

Next up for the U15s and U13s is the Missoula Laxfest on April 28.

April 16th, 2012

Missoula Elite Lacrosse would like to extend a huge thank you to Maulers Hockey Central for recently stepping up to donate 15 Cascade helmets to our youth program! With the youth numbers growing significantly this year, these helmets were in serious need and now we can protect our kids with the best!

Maulers Hockey Central is located in the Southgate Mall, near the Mustard Seed entrance, and is Montana’s top lacrosse retailer. They carry boys and girls equipment, offer custom stringing, and more! If you haven’t checked them out already, be sure to do so and remember that buying local helps us grow lacrosse here even more!

Once again, big thanks to store managers Matt Tschider & Traver McLeod, and thanks to everyone at MHC for helping to grow the game in Missoula!
