Programs
The Men’s Varsity team is our flagship program. Varsity players receives top level instruction from experienced coaches with extensive lacrosse resumes. Players participate in drills, scrimmages, and study halls, emphasizing our commitment to creating strong student-athletes. Players on the Varsity team will also have the opportunity to travel to various location around the Pacific Northwest to take on top area teams.
The Men’s Junior Varsity team is a top level development program for freshman and sophomores. The team is a key component to preparing players for higher levels of competition. JV players practice 3 days a week in a competitive, fast-paced environment. Players will learn new skills, drills, participate in scrimmages, and also have the opportunity to travel and play other area teams. The JV program is a great opportunity, whether a player is new to the game or looking for intensive skill development.
The Women’s team hit the ground running last season with great coaching and an enthusiastic team. Following the first few weeks of practice the women notched MEL’s inaugural victory in a shootout held in Spokane, WA. With both coaches returning from last season, the team is looking to step up their game even more and are eager to take on any of the area challengers. The Women’s team is open to all high school players, welcoming new players as well as returning talent. The team will travel and play a full schedule along with an intensive practice program.
Middle School teams are available for the 2010 season. Registration opens January 1st!
The Boy’s Middle School team is a brand new program for Missoula Elite Lacrosse. The boys will receive top coaching from Griz lacrosse alumni. This is a skill development program, preparing players for their high school careers. The program will teach players the fundamentals of the game and introduce them to the systems run at the high school level. The team will play several games against area teams, giving them a chance to experience live game action.
Middle School teams are available for the 2010 season. Registration opens January 1st!
The Girl’s Middle School team is a brand new program for Missoula Elite Lacrosse. The girls will practice and learn in a fun filled environment and will be coached by members of the Lady Griz collegiate lacrosse team. The program is a great way for players to be introduced to the game and prepare for high school play. Players will be taught the fundamentals of the game, learn new lacrosse drills, and compete in scrimmages and games.
Beginning in the spring of 2010, Missoula Elite Lacrosse is proud to present a series of clinics throughout western Montana. The driving force behind these events are to promote the sport of lacrosse in new regions and to help spread the game across Montana. This spring MEL will be hosting clinics in Hamilton, Whitefish, Polson, Butte, and Helena. Each clinic includes a morning session (9AM-12PM), lunch (12PM-1PM), and afternoon session (1PM-4PM). Players will learn about the game, be taught the fundamentals, participate in drills, and end the day with some scrimmaging. Players will need to wear athletic shoes or cleats, athletic shorts, and a t-shirt. All other equipment for the clinics is provided and the cost is $40 per player. “The Next Level” is an off-season workout program specifically designed for Missoula Elite High School players that want to take their lacrosse game to the next level. Each session includes skill and position-specific development, strength and speed conditioning, and a core workout and flexibility section designed to enhance your ability to prevent injury. At the conclusion of the program, players receive workouts that can be done at home and a workout log to track their progress. They also recieve lacrosse specific weight training information, a special “The Next Level” t-shirt, and a serious jump start on the competition! Registration is open to returning MEL Varsity and Junior Varsity players and the cost is $40 per player. For more information please email info@missoulaelite.com.
Special college recruiting packages are now available to some Missoula Elite High School Men’s and Women’s lacrosse players. Participants will work with MEL coaches to design their player profile, academic and athletic resume, highlight footage, and other elements that make getting recruited to college easier. Participants will also have opportunities to play in selective and high level recruiting events throughout the country.
